What is Google Cloud A/B testing?

A/B Experiment

It is an unplanned experiment within the two groups: a control group and an experimental group. You need to include the information of the user’s group and also when you want to record the user’s event when you run the A/B experiment with RECOMMENDATIONS AI.

Firebase A/B Testing

Firebase A/B Testing helps you make full use of your app experience by making it run smoothly, analyze, scale the product, and also the marketing experiments. Through A/B Testing, you have the authority to test the changes in App UI’s, features, and the engagement of the campaign so that you are aware that it works smoothly and on the correct metrics. It gives you an overall brief before rolling the app into the real world.

It works with FCM. FCM stands for Firebase Cloud Messaging which is also known with another name Google Cloud Messaging. Through this, you can test different marketing messages. It also config remote that helps you to test the changes within your app.

Capabilities of A/B testing:

  • Test and also work to improve your product experience: First of all, create an experiment with the remote config to make changes of app behavior and also make changes in the appearance of your app on the other side of the different things in your experiment. Test your app which is the most effective app before the changes or after the changes.
  • Find the different ways to re-engage users with the help of notification composer: A/B testing helps to bring the user to your app in the most effective working and messaging settings.
  • Introduce the new feature safely: Don’t introduce the new features without experiment or testing. First, test it with a small user group and make sure that your new feature is working fine. Once you get confidence than roll out the new feature.
  • Target the user groups: Do your analytics before roll out your app. Keep in mind the type of audience you are targeting.

Working:

Experiments are created to test that one or more variants to measure how well they are working in the approach of goal that is our target.  Groups can be targeted with multiple chains with “AND” logic.

With the help of remote config, you can change the parameters of appearances and behavior. Through this, you can find out the results and perform analytics on it. Small start your app testing experiments on a small scale it will be very helpful. Once it is done you can go for a large scale. Always, keep in mind the targeted user you are targeting for your app.

How to implement it?

  • Add cloud messaging and the remote config in your app: In case your app is already using these, you can directly jump to the next step.
  • Details of those features you want to evaluate in the A/B testing: If you have added some new features of UI in your app. If you are controlling that changes in the remote config then you are allowed to test multiple variants using A/B testing.
  • Explain how you will measure success: You can use an analytic event or a conversion funnel to define a goal of experiment in a remote config experiment.
  • Monitor your experiment: Start your experience with a small number of users. When the result of your experiment is successful then roll out your experiment into the large community.
