Microchip Expands Portfolio of Safety-Authenticated ICs
【Lansheng Technology Information】Microchip Technology Inc. announced on March 15, 2023 that it has expanded its security certification product line and launched six new products in the CryptoAutomotive™ IC series. These products comply with Common Criteria Joint Interpretation Library (JIL) high-rated secure key storage and support Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS)-compliant certified algorithms.
This portfolio of secure and authenticated devices lowers the barrier to entry, enabling product developers targeting new market segments and applications to implement trusted authentication to prevent counterfeiting, improve quality control and safeguard the user experience. With the prevalence of counterfeit products across many industries, the need to implement embedded trust in many designs has become critical.
These devices are supported by the Trust Platform Design Suite. This is a dedicated software tool used to interface IC products with Microchip's secure key provisioning service. This scalable service provides cryptographic assets for projects of virtually any size, from dozens of devices to large-scale deployments across multiple industries, such as consumer disposables and medical supplies, automotive and industrial accessory ecosystems, wireless charging and data centers.

Microchip has added five new products to its existing CryptoAuthentication IC portfolio. These IC products are hardware-based secure storage designed to keep secret keys hidden from unauthorized attackers.
The sixth new device is designed for the automotive market. The TA010 with ECC signature and HMAC is an AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified CryptoAutomotive IC, enabling OEMs to implement security certification in their designs without costly modifications and meet security requirements for future vehicle updates.
Microchip's security products are compatible with any microprocessor (MPU) or microcontroller (MCU) and are available as companion devices to Microchip's AVR® MCUs and Arm® core-based MPUs and MCUs. These safety-certified IC products provide customers with versatile solutions that comply with evolving industry standards and practices.
