The module from STMicroelectronics has obtained Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3 certification and a global radio equipment license, and supports the STM32Cube ecosystem, which helps to simplify application development and accelerate product development cycles.

The module is based on an STM32WB15 MCU with 320KB Flash and 48KB RAM. The dual-core architecture of Arm® Cortex®-M0+ and Cortex-M4 ensures excellent real-time performance for both the M0+ RF subsystem and the M4 user application. The Bluetooth 5.3 stack and profiles support the latest features, including advertising extensions. To minimize power requirements, the MCU offers flexible power management modes, including Standby and Stop 2 modes, to extend the life of self-powered devices and enable long periods of operation without human intervention. This module allows developers to easily use the full functionality of the STM32WB15, including a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), various digital interfaces and an interface.

Like the existing STM32WB5MMG module with larger Flash and SRAM, the STM32WB1MMC module and its companion B-WB1M-WPAN1 evaluation board are fully integrated in the STM32Cube environment. Therefore, developing software with this module is as easy as developing software with any STM32WB MCU. The STM32CubeWB MCU software package includes hardware abstraction layer (HAL) firmware, low-level API, file system and RTOS system. Because the software package is shared with other STM32WB MCUs, developers can migrate existing projects directly to the new module, maximizing development flexibility and speeding up project completion.
